Answer: In sexual abuse cases, it has been proven that there are a reasonably high percentage of false allegations. It’s very different than other areas of crime, and this is especially important in sex cases because these cases are generally what I call a swearing match. One person is saying the crime occurred and the accused saying the crime did not occur. But again, the science behind this shows there is a very high percentage, compared to other crimes, of false allegations.
